If you are moving out of town you will no longer deal with the same utility company, make sure you ask them for a final bill.
make sure you give them the new address to send it.
I moved out of state a few years ago and I never aske my electric company for a final bill.
A few years later I tried to refinance my house only to find out that I had bad credit because the utility company reported the remaining balance to the credit bureau.
If you want to have good credit, make sure you pay all these little debts before you move.
