Move Your Phone Service

If you are moving to a new apartment it is very important to alert your local phone company days in advance that you are moving.

In most cases it will not take a long time to move your phone service.

If you are like me and you rely heavily on your internet connection, then you know what it feels like to spend a week with out your DSL Service.

Can you keep your phone number?

If you are moving within the same area code you can definitely keep your phone number.  If you are moving to a different area code then you will have to get a new number. 

Some phone companies will allow you to use a recorded message to tell the callers of the change.

What will it cost you to move your phone service?

Phone companies will charge you a line connection fee every time you move to a new location but you may be able to move your phone service for free if you do it online.  Check your local phone company’s website, you may be in luck.
